Years with the district:

What are some of your hobbies and interests?

My hobbies are playing volleyball and crafting. I enjoy camping and spending time with my friends, husband and two golden retrievers.

What’s something interesting about you that not a lot of people know?

Something interesting about me that you might not know is I got married this past June in Duluth!

Why did you decide to pursue a career in education?

I decided to pursue a career in education because I have always had a passion for working with children. I want to make a difference in the lives of as many students as I can. I can pass on important life lessons to my students that they will never forget. I have the ability to influence their decisions, behaviors, strengths, weaknesses, and imaginations.

What do you enjoy most about working with students?

What I enjoy most about working with students is the innocence, logic, and how much I learn from the students every day. I love being among children to enjoy their energy and excitement. Their laughter and thoughtfulness is contagious.

Share a fun project you've worked on or innovative teaching method you've used this year. What made it memorable for you?

I have been doing many different projects that bring us all together as a community. After breaks, we have a "Connected Learning Day" when we focus on building community and relationships with one another. We can also take this time to remind students of the different expectations in different areas of our school! This is a memorable implementation because it has helped my students build better relationships with each other and show kindness in different ways around the school.

What do you enjoy about being part of Faribault Public Schools?

There are many different things to enjoy about Faribault Public school. I enjoy the students in our district, they all come from many different backgrounds and can share many experiences with one another. I also enjoy the colleagues that I work with. I appreciate how entire district strives for all students to succeed. I am motivated to come to work each day when I know I get to see my students and colleagues!
